Did you know that Vermont plays a significant role in honoring Vietnam Veterans?
Vermont’s interstate highway, I-89N was officially designated as the Vietnam Vets Memorial Highway on 10/30/82 in Sharon, Vermont, the FIRST such memorial in the country.
The location was chosen because it is 138 miles from Canada, and each mile represents the 138 Vermonters who lost their lives in the Vietnam War.
A memorial was erected at the Sharon rest area, and rededicated in 2005 as Vietnam Vets Memorial.

THE SECRET AGENT premiered at Lincoln Center as part of the New York Film Festival and has been called “… excellent … a tough, angry look at the consequences of exposure to Agent Orange … a chilling issue that is effectively addressed here,” by the NY Times, and “one of the year’s most terrifying horror films!” by the Boston Globe.
VIETNAM EXPERIENCE captures the vivid horror of the war. Whether veteran, war protester, student, man or woman, no one will view this film untouched.
The film’s music is by Country Joe McDonald.
“And it’s one, two, three, what are we fighting for?” The sights and sounds of Vietnam still carry an unforgettable impact on our collective memories.
This moving film brings us closer to the reality of Vietnam by combining the emotional lyrics and music of Country Joe McDonald with compelling archival footage of the war.
Much more than a thirty-minute music video, it is a heartfelt journey into the war that won’t go away.
The San Francisco Chronicle called it “a gripping mix of wartime and post-war film footage, without commentary, except for anti-war songs by Country Joe McDonald…more harrowing and more eloquent than all the Hollywood movies on that subject.”
