The first phase of this road project is nearly complete. The drainage, curbing and base coat asphalt
on North Winchester Street has been completed and crews will begin to work on the sidewalks
and landscaping. North Winchester Street is open to traffic, but at times, it will be closed to thru
traffic.
On August 28th and 29th, the second phase of the project, reconstructing California Street, will
begin. The asphalt on California Street will be reclaimed followed by drainage, grading and
sidewalk construction. California Street will be closed to thru traffic. Motorists are urged to
continue to avoid the area and use West Street and Denman Thompson Road as an alternative
route.
