Westminster Historical Society reads the Declaration of Independence for America’s 250th.
History isn’t just found in books—it comes alive when a community gathers to speak the words that helped shape a nation.
On July 8, Westminster Historical Society joined communities across Vermont and the country in a public reading of the Declaration of Independence, commemorating the 250th anniversary of its first public reading in 1776. Citizens of all ages took turns reading the historic document aloud, honoring the ideals of liberty, self-government, and civic responsibility that continue to shape our democracy.
FACT TV was there to capture this meaningful community event as Westminster added its voice to a nationwide celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. Whether you attended or are seeing it for the first time, this recording preserves a memorable evening of history, patriotism, and community.
Watch the full event and experience this unique moment as Westminster reflects on the words that changed history.
