Special Brookline VT Selectboard Meeting: February 26, 2025

4. Selectboard Chair Report
A. The town has been notified that the lease of the school building to Suzy;s
Little Peanuts which expires on June 30, 2025 will not be signed. The
program will be moving to Brattleboro. This will impact our 2025-26 town
budget by the amount anticipated for the year by $28,800.00.
B. A review of each article which may be impacted by the loss of this non tax
Revenue is in order to prepare for explaining at Town Meeting.
C. Review and discuss if and how Article 4 might be amended from the floor
on March 3, 2025 Town Meeting to best reflect the impact of
“mothballing” the school building when vacated.
D. Review and discuss if and how Article 11 might be amended or tabled
from the floor on March 3, 2025 Town Meeting due to the loss of funding
for a Building Expense Fund.
E. Review and reconfirm the amount of surplus listed in Article 9 and how
any amended amount will affect Article 4.
F. Review and discuss the amending of Article 13 by $1,000.00 due to the
notification that the Visiting Nurse Program/ Dartmouth will no longer
serve Brookline with home visits for nursing or hospice care.
G. Review and discuss any questions that a SB member may wish to make
under Other Business - Non Binding discussion based upon this new
development of funding loss.
H. Any other discussion as requested by a selectboard member not requiring
a vote.

Concur with the SB chair signing the Payroll Warrant
